your asheville photographer for the nostalgic at heart

I believe children to transform our lives for the better. Whether conceived through your womb or through adoption, children are a gift. I believe each season of childhood is fleeting, however, no season is like the newborn season. They will never be as small, as wrinkly, as sleepy, or snuggly.

My desire is to capture genuine moments of connection, tender joy and affection, family cuddles, and every little detail. To create images itching to be printed and enjoyed for years to come.

After becoming a mother in 2015, my hobby of 8 years transformed into a business. I began to see the world differently and my need to document our every day emerged. I realized that these baby days were worth savoring.

Three children later, my love for newborn photography has grown. I have come to appreciate the photographs of baby toes, fingers, fuzzy backs, alert eyes, moments with little loves nestled against your chest, breastfeeding, dancing around, and snuggled up as a family. These moments would never come again but photographs will bring back the essence of those days.

The sweetness of nostalgia, how it brings back the scent and the heart aching joy of becoming a mother, time and time again, as you look at the baby albums and your walls adorned with photos.

These memories are worth preserving. One day, that little baby will grow up and ask, "Mama, what was I like as a baby?"

Printed photographs bring a sense of belonging to our children. Photographs say, " you are loved, you are valued, you are home."

xoxo, lauren

intentional

family time

Alex and I are intentional about individual dates with our kids. We spend our weekends baking, hiking, and snuggled up to a good movie. We are far from perfect but we desire to create a safe and welcoming space for our kids to flourish.

always

hot coffee

Most of mine and Alex's dates started with coffee and over the years we've grown a love for locally roasted, properly brewed, black coffee. I love bringing my clients their favorite coffee drink before our session; Mama can enjoy a latte while the hair and makeup artist gets her ready.

fresh & colorful

flowers

I love flowers! I love having a colorful bouquet in my home, I love supporting local florists, and I love using fresh flowers in my sessions. Whether I bring you a bouquet or we venture to a local flower farm, I think it's a timeless piece that adds beauty and a pop of color.

all things

clean, minimal, simple

I love organizing and styling my home minimally and simply. I love a clean space with intentional details. I love how the light fills a white space. This is how I photograph; with a clean, minimal, and simple style to showcase your family connection & the newborn features.

kind words from my clients

Lauren did an amazing job with our newborn photos! She was great from start to finish- detail oriented, easy to communicate with, professional, and timely with getting our pictures back. She brought over her beautiful dresses... It was nice to not have to worry about finding an outfit in the midst of giving birth. Lauren handled our newborn with such care and love. The photos are so beautiful and we will cherish them forever.

Lauren was wonderful during our newborn/family pics. She was great with getting our two and a half year old involved and excited about the photo - she's like a toddler whisperer! We are so pleased with the way our photos came out and captured our sweet family. I would highly recommend Lauren to anyone!

Lauren is warm and casual and invites you to relax and be yourself in front of the camera. She is great at bringing introverts or those who don't consider themselves photogenic out of their shells. She did a newborn session for us with a two-day-old baby, who was fussy and crying. She is a mother herself, so she is able to adapt to situations that seem less than ideal. Her nature and demeanor are a huge part of getting great photos. The funny thing is, the crying photos of our tiny baby are actually the ones who love most.

I wasn’t sure how my kids would do but Lauren was amazing! She made them laugh and knew exactly how to get them involved and smiling. She got incredible shots and all in less than 30 minutes as the rain started to pick up. I was affirmed we wouldn’t get enough but then she sent me the link and my goodness there were tons and all AMAZING. She captured our family so perfectly. I am so thankful for these forever memories I have of my family.
