As an Asheville maternity photographer, working with a fellow creative in this beautiful light-filled photography studio was the kind of session that lights a fire for me. I honestly felt so inspired! It was my first studio session and definitely not my last!

I’m also so honored that this sweet mama trusted me to document her pregnancy. If you’re from Asheville, you’re in for a treat because this beautiful mama, Sara, is talented local multimedia artist who recently moved here from New York.

Lifestyle Studio Session | Asheville Maternity Photography

We did two different looks for Sara’s maternity session. First was a softer look, with lighter tones and organic textures. Then we did some photos where we incorporated her love for dance with more bold colors. You can see that part of her session here! 

Maternity sessions are always special to see the excitement and anticipation for baby, and Sara’s session was no different. Her natural beauty is just so evident in these images. It lets the focus be on this amazing thing that her body is doing by creating a new life.

Not everyone is comfortable with bare belly images when they are pregnant but it’s truly such a beautiful part of pregnancy to document. We kept styling simple with just a few layers to drape over Sara’s shoulders. I love that the simplicity of the styling makes this session feel so intimate.

We’ll be doing baby boy’s newborn session in this studio soon and I cannot wait to meet him!
