There is something so special about photographing motherhood- these kinds of studio sessions just fill my cup! As a baby photographer in Asheville NC, documenting baby’s 6 month milestone while also helping Mom get into the picture is such an honor.
With plans to open up my own studio this year, I see many more of these clean, light-filled studio sessions in my future! The studio really is perfect for milestone sessions. We can use different setups to provide a lot of variety in your gallery.
Some of my favorite images from this session were of baby Oaklynn in the Moses basket! The simplicity of the basket and layers of swaddles were the perfect backdrop. I still can’t get over her gorgeous brown eyes!
Our session was very relaxed and quiet, which allowed the focus to be on their beautiful connection. Mama and baby danced, looked out the window together, and snuggled on the bed. We also gave Oaklynn a chance to show off her new skills- lots of rolling, army crawling and sitting up like a big girl! She was so happy to be with her mama.
I’m looking forward to working with the sweet family again throughout Oaklynn’s first year, and in the years to come!

With milestone sessions, I love to focus on baby’s little features as they grow and document those big developmental changes. They are also so expressive at this age!
Between the smiles, silly faces, and the ability to roll and grab their toes, 6 months is one of my favorite ages for a session. Even if baby isn’t sitting unassisted quite yet, it’s a great excuse to add Mom to the photos. It is my hope that Moms will always savor and enjoy these special memories together!
