This family was so wonderful to work with for baby boy’s in-home lifestyle newborn session. I met them in their Asheville, NC home and was immediately greeted by their first babies- their three pups!

As a newborn photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a better family to work with. Mom and Dad were so easy-going and baby boy was just as calm and peaceful. The pups were relatively unphased by the new addition to their household, but we tried to snap some photos of them together!

I was so excited for this session because its the first time I could use both my digital and film cameras. It’s such a thrill to see how they came out! Film requires a lot of light so it’s not always possible to shoot indoors, but the results are so timeless with true to life colors. I’m looking forward to experimenting with it more during upcoming indoor sessions!

During the session Mom told me about sweet boy’s NICU stay and what that experience was like for them. Expecting during a pandemic is hard, my heart ached for them to go through a NICU stay too.

Thankfully baby boy is thriving though, and he is so sweet! Apparently in the NICU he loved to lay on his side, just like the way he curled up after I swaddled him.

He was a good little sleeper, so I made sure to document all of those little newborn details. As a Mom myself, I know babies don’t keep. My hope is that when you look at your gallery years from now, you’re immediately transported back to this sweet season of life.
